A global semiconductor company will be expanding its presence in Central Texas.
Dutch firm ASML will be opening a new office in the city of Hutto with more than 100 employees. The company specializes in manufacturing equipment used to produce computer chips.
The 35,000-square-foot space will be located in the Hutto Co-Op District on Highway 79, the same area where city hall is located. The Co-Op District is comprised of a mixed-use, walkable area including retail, entertainment, restaurants and community spaces.
The move comes as Central Texas’ semiconductor industry continues to grow with Samsung finishing its semiconductor plant just a few miles away in Taylor.
ASML currently operates an office in Austin and another site in Dallas. Officials have not announced when ASML will open in Hutto.
