Hutto City Hall & Library
The City of Hutto is a home-rule municipality operating under a Council-Manager form of government in Central Texas. As of August 2018, 30,448 people call the growing community home, making Hutto one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation. People choose Hutto for the ability to have all that a small town life can offer while being 25 minutes from the Texas state Capitol.
For Southside, the choice of where to grow next is heavily guided by finding the right cultural match. Our business began in 1882, and continues to thrive in 2018, in the Texas town of Elgin. With each step forward, we look for communities with the same values and principles that share a respect for the past and an openness to the possibilities of the future. We were fortunate enough to find these qualities in beautiful Bastrop, TX when we opened our second location in 2014. Now, we feel very blessed to have found another community of kindred spirits in the City of Hutto.
Top Notch Hamburgers
Top Notch opened its doors in 1971 and is currently owned by Jay Bunda, Chris Courtney and Kelly Chappell, who also own and operate the highly regarded Galaxy Café and Zocalo Café dining venues. Top Notch incorporates secret family recipes from the burger joint’s original owners into its menu items, including charcoal grilled burgers, fried chicken and hand-battered onion rings.
Top Notch has earned a very loyal fanbase thanks to its simple yet exceptional menu, which has led to accolades from the Austin American-Statesman, Austin Chronicle, KVUE-TV, Eater and Thrillist, to name a few. Because of its authentic Austin notoriety, the restaurant is often sought after as a filming location, having been featured in movies, commercials, music videos and magazines.
Cocina Jalisco Sports Bar & Grill
Co-Op District patrons will soon be able to enjoy “exceptional Mexican cuisine,” care of one of the Austin-area’s longtime restaurateurs specializing in authentic carne asada, fajitas, and some perfectly delicious margaritas.
Jaime Fernandez — the owner and operator of traditional Mexican restaurants Jalisco’s Restaurant & Bar in Austin and Buda, and Tequila Bar & Grill in Round Rock — will open their new restaurant concept this year.
Located in the same building as Top Notch Hamburgers, Cocina Jalisco Sports Bar & Grill will feature an outdoor patio and bar area with space for live music and will serve authentic, handcrafted Mexican food.
