John Marlin, Founder & Chief Executive Officer

John Marlin’s dedication to creating quality developments and communities that support the values of the businesses and residents they serve has become the cornerstone for the company’s many projects. Known for getting the job done in an effective manner with uncompromising integrity and professionalism, John brings a desire for excellence and an unwavering commitment to success to every venture.

John has extensive experience in the acquisition, development and disposition of both horizontal and vertical construction, including overseeing the construction and sales of several thousand homes and the development of several thousand lots. He has also constructed multi-floor condominiums and re-developed office buildings, commercial storefronts and large condominium complexes.

John is responsible for developing the company’s investment strategy in addition to overseeing the design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of all the company’s programs. He is also instrumental in navigating each project through the municipal entitlement process, mitigating a significant component of the development risk.

Allen Jones, Co-Founder & Principal

Allen Jones is responsible for sourcing and underwriting investment opportunities and overseeing all financial analysis and reporting, as well as managing existing projects and investor relations. Allen has spent the last 20 years in real estate with a primary emphasis on residential land development. In roles as an analyst, acquisitions director, and chief financial officer, he has been involved in the acquisition and management of more than 25 real estate investment and development opportunities totaling more than 7,000 acres and a combined 12,000 developed and entitled residential lots.

Allen received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from Midwestern State University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Baylor University.

Allen resides in Frisco, Texas with his wife of 17 years and their two children. Allen enjoys flying and has maintained his pilots license for the past 28 years.

Robert D. Wunsch, VP - Austin Acquisition & Development

Robert Wunsch has more than 30 years of experience in real estate investments and development. He has planned and developed family communities, golf course communities, neighborhood amenity centers, commercial retail and multi-family homes. Robert joined A.G. Spanos Construction, Inc. in 1983, where he was involved in land acquisition, property development and property management in their Phoenix, San Diego, and Atlanta divisions. He was promoted to Regional Property Manager and headed land acquisition for A.G. Spanos for the Southeast. He oversaw the management of over 10,000 apartment units, as well as an 182,500 square foot office building and a 100-acre single-family community development.

In 1992, Robert, with a group of private investors, acquired the Berry Creek Country Club community in Georgetown, Texas. The acquisition included more than 130 finished lots, an 18-hole golf course, a 26,000 square-foot clubhouse, 11 lighted tennis courts, a 3,200 square-foot tennis clubhouse and a Jr. Olympic swimming pool. The acquisition included a water and wastewater utility company and a cable television company that served the development. Also included in the purchase was raw land and options to the bulk of the land surrounding the development. At build-out, Berry Creek includes close to 1,300 homes.

Robert has also completed the development of the Avery Ranch community in Austin, Texas. Avery Ranch is the largest PUD in Austin, Texas. Avery Ranch is a 1,800-acre development that includes a high-end 18-hole public golf course, 5,200 homes, a 6,800 square foot clubhouse, and 32 acres of commercial development. Avery Ranch was listed as the #1 selling community five years in a row. Included within the Avery Ranch development are the four commercial/retail-developed corners that he built and sold, located at the intersection of Avery Ranch Boulevard and Parmer Lane.

Robert was selected as the master developer of Avery Centre, a 1,400 + acre mixed-use development located on University Blvd., just east of Interstate 35 in Round Rock, Texas. The Texas A&M Health Science Center is located within Avery Centre and he was owner and builder of A&M’s first phase building for their medical school facility. This $55 million project was the first private development and lease with the Texas A&M System.

Robert’s educational background includes a B.A. in Business Finance from University of the Pacific. Within the community, he is actively involved in a number of charitable initiatives and has served on the Board of Trustees for Southwestern University in Georgetown. Robert lives in Austin with his wife and children.

Wyatt Henderson, Co-Founder & Principal

Wyatt Henderson has spent the last 22 years focused in real estate development and homebuilding. He started his career with KPMG Peat Marwick and has worked with some of the nation’s largest homebuilders, including KB Home, Lennar Homes and Ashton Woods Homes, where he served as a controller responsible for project finance and business plan development.

With MA Partners, Wyatt is responsible for the execution of development projects and is instrumental in sourcing and evaluating opportunities. He is active in investor relations as well as negotiations with sellers, lenders, and municipalities.

Wyatt attended Midwestern State University on both academic and athletic scholarships. He then continued at Baylor University in Waco, Texas earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Accounting with a minor in Information Systems.

Wyatt lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife of 19 years and their three children.

David Howell, Vice President - Land Development

David Howell has spent the past 27 years focused on real estate acquisition and development of master planned single family residential projects. He has extensive expertise in project feasibility, market analysis, subdivision design, land-use entitlement and construction management of both horizontal and vertical improvements.

David began his career as a consulting engineer in private practice before entering the real estate development field. He has been involved in the acquisition, entitlement, development and management of projects totaling more than 12,000 lots.

With MA Partners, David is responsible for execution and management of development operations, overseeing feasibility, entitlement, design and construction to ensure timely and successful completion of projects. David’s long track record of quality projects, strong work ethic and creative attitude works to maximize project success and investor returns.

David holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin. He is a registered Professional Engineer and a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Texas.

Ryan Burton, Senior Project Manager

Ryan Burton is responsible for the oversight and implementation of development projects in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, as well as sourcing new opportunities throughout Texas. In addition, Ryan works closely with city officials to ensure compliance with all zoning and entitlement requirements for our developments within each municipality.

As an attorney and licensed real estate broker, Ryan’s primary areas of focus throughout his career have been client development, property analysis, land development, legal compliance and risk management. Additionally, over the last 3 years Ryan has been involved in the creation and management of Public Improvement Districts with a combined value in excess of $100 million.

Ryan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston, where he attended on an athletic scholarship, and his law degree from South Texas College of Law. He resides in Lucas, Texas with his wife and their three children.
